  • Notes
    • (Research):KINSHIP: Investigate> Bartrum's 'Welsh Genealogies 300-1400' volume 2 page 73 questions whether he belongs in this family. Page 74 footnote 1 states "All the genealogical MSS' from the earliest extent, misidentify Cadwgon of Nannau wiwith Cadwgon ap Bleddyn ap Cynfyn. D 49, however, leaves a space for thwo names between Madog, father of Meurig, and Cadwgon ap Bleddyn. G 140 gives Cadwgon of Nannau a distinct wife. The most probable connection is 'Madog ap Cadwgon of Nannau ap Madog of Cadwgon ap Bleddyn."

KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Bartrum's 'Welsh Genealogies 300-1400' states: "All genealogical MSS from the earliest extent, misidentify Cadwgon of Nannau with Cadwgon ap Bleddyn ap Cynfyn. D49, however, leaves a space for two names between Madog, father of Meurig, and Cadwgon ap Bleddyn. G 140 gives Cadwgon of Nannau a distinct wife. The most probable correction is 'Cadwgon ap Madog ap Cadwgon ap Bleddyn'."
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 2 page 226 omits this generation from the name string.
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> J-Morris' 'Shropshire Genealogies' volume 6 page 3135 omits this generation from the name string.
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Griffith's 'Pedigrees of Anglesey and Carnarvonshire Families' pages 165, 201, and 322 omit this generation from the name string.
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Griffith's 'Pedigrees of Anglesey and Carnarvonshire Families' page 200 makes him the son of his great grandfather Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, thus omitting the generations of Madog ap Cadwgon and Cadwgon ap Bleddyn.
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Lloyd's 'History of the Princes, the Lords Marcher and the Ancient Nobility of Powys Fadog' volume 5 page 64 omits this generation from the name string.
