REMARKS: He is recorded in the 'Triads' as one of the three "Hualogion Teyrnedd", band-wearing princes, who assumed those insignia of royalty, like the primitive kings of Britain, instead of crowns. - (Research):IDENTITY: Investigate> 'Welsh Classical Dictionary' page 302 states that he is probably the same individual as Gwaithfoed of Gwent, father of Aeddan, "Y Bach", and Gwyn.
KINSHIP: Investigate> Bartrum's 'Welsh Genealogies 300-1400' volume 1 page 49 states he is either the son of 1) Cydifor ap Peredur*, or 2) Einudd ap Pwyll ap Peredur*. Bartrum in 'Welsh Classical Dictionary' page 302 makes him the son of Einudd.
KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 1 page 15 gives his father as Cloddien ap Gweydyr [Gwybedydd], Lord of Ceredigion and his mother as Morfydd ferch Odwyn ap Teithwal, paramount Lord of Ceredigion.

KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Bradney's 'History of Monmouthshire' volume 1 page 242 gives him additional sons; 1) Gwerystan, Lord of Powis, 2) Rhydderch, Lord of Gwynfai, 3) Aeddan, Lord of Grosmont and Clytha, 4) Sir Gwyn, Lord of Castell Gwyn in Llanfihangel Gresynni, knighted by William "the Conqueror", 5) Bach, Lord of Skenfrith, and 6) Cynan, Lord of Tegaingl. A notation above states he was probably the father of Aeddan "Y Bach" and Gwyn.
