  • Notes
    • (Research):
    • RESIDENCE: Wiston (Cas-wis).

(Research) MARRIAGE: Investigate> Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 2 page C26 claims he married 2nd (as Mr. Griffiths of Penybenglog) Sybil ferch Cadwgon of Cardigan". They have been linked in the file accordingly until proven otherwise.

(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 1 page 90 gives his mother as Margred daughter of Sir Adam Stanton, Knight. But according to Bartrum's 'Welsh Genealogies 300-1400 she was his grandmother.
(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Dwnn's 'Heraldic Visitations of Wales' volume 2 page 55 footnote 2 gives his parents as Walter Wogan and Margaret Stanton, then gives him a son named William.
(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Griffith's 'Pedigrees of Anglesey and Carnarvonshire Families' page 294 reverses this generation with that of his son John.
(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Griffith's 'Pedigrees of Anglesey and Carnarvonshire Families' page 294 makes him the son of this grandfather Walter, thus omitting the generation of Thomas.
(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Thomas' 'Golden Grove MS' book 12 page K1394 after correctly identifing him states "severall geneologists make this Sr Mathew ye son of Sr Walter Wogan omitting Sr Tho."
