  (Research) KINSHIP: Investigate> Bartrum's 'Welsh Genealogies 300-1400' volume 10 page 783 states "There is much disagreement in the genealogies about the ancestry of Thomas's wife Elinor, sometimes made into two. Some versions are definitely fictitious, the others (shown here) open to doubt. Maredudd is said to have been declared illegitimate on the grounds that Elinor was cousin to Thomas. See Card 2.136 pp. 51-52, foot numbers. Isabel is mentioned only by Ieuan Brechfa (three times), but is less open to question. According to M 350 Sir Robert of Bacton was son of the sister of Sir Robert de Valle, so that Isabel was second cousin to Thomas. Lleucu is only mentioned in GG 7. Catrin ferch Llywelyn's mother is given on page 24 as Elinor daughter of Simon Mountford, Earl of Leicester and her mother as a daughter of King John.
