  Died without issue. Was the 2nd Earl of Oxford, Great Chamberlain, and Sherrif of Essex and Herefordshire during the reign of King John. He was, according to Burke, one of the "evil counsillors" of King John. He was succeeded by his brother Robert, who became the 3rd Earl of Oxford.
