  Henry is shown in the 1910 census living in Seattle at the age of 23. He was single and a boarder, living with Mary H. Fadden (56) and Lloyd F. Faisbrook (24). In 1917-1918, Henry was registered for the draft in Kern County, California. He served as corporal in the Washington National Guard Infantry for three years. He was recorded as being of medium height and weight and had brown eyes and brown hair. He signed up May 27, 1917 at Kern County, California, draftboard number 2 (roll 1530796) and had been a student candidate in ROTC. He was station at Presidio Army Post in San Francisco and was single. In 1930, Henry was living in Fort Lewis, Pierce County, Washington, age 43, with his wife Ida T. (36), sons Henry (10) and John T. (6) and daughter Jane (7 months).
