    • W. H. Becker, former Clarksville resident, died at his home in Waverly, Sunday, August 29th. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran church in Waverly with the pastor, Rev. R. C. Schulueter officiating. Burial was in the Clarksville cemetery.

      Mr. Becker was well known in the Clarksville and was the father of Ruloff and Theodore Becker and a brother of Mrs. August Busching and Mrs. Henry Muller.

      Mr. Becker was born near Farmersberg in Clayton county, March 25, 1864, the son of Ferdinand and Louise (nee Buchholz) Becker. He was confirmed by Pastor Albert in St. Paul's Lutheran church at Siegel and was married by Pastor Kohler to Miss Maria Rothschild Jan. 26, 1893.

      The Becker family moved from Clayton county to Butler county when William Henry Becker was a baby. He lived on the Becker farm in Butler county until his marriage and then moved to Clarksville where he was a carpenter until 1907, moving in that year back to the farm. In February of 1920 he and Mrs. Becker moved to Waverly and have lived there since.

      Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Becker and all of them survive their father. They are Ruloff and Theodore of Clarksville, Elmer of Chicago, William Jr., of Northwood, Otto of Enders, Neb., Gesina Nuhring of Brooten, Minn., Elsie Buschining of Plainfield and Lydia Johnson of Sumner. There are also nine grand-children: one brother, Ferdinand of Altadeena, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Muller and Mrs. August Busching of Clarksville, Mrs. Ferd Fashholz of Walcott, N. D., and Mrs. Henry Busching of Wyndmere, North Dakota.
